BlazBlue: Continuum Shift FAQ/Setup guide

BBCS was leaked onto the internet somehow, and modified to run on PC. It is the arcade version, so it lacks functions like options and netplay, but the game runs smooth.

FAQ is at the bottom of the page for troubleshooting.

1: Obtaining BBCS
There is an original torrent, and an HTTP download below.

The torrent is can be found here. Inside is a zip file. The password to unencrypt it is ‘shoryu’ without quotes.
The game has no netplay option, so be nice and seed the torrent while you’re playing.

I have uploaded the game to my site for people who prefer an HTTP download. The files can be found here

2: Configuration and troubleshooting
Once you download and extract BBCS, you should have a folder similar to this.

To make it easy to run the game, make the folder a simple subdirectory, such as
C:\BBCS

To run the game, you have to use the command prompt.
Use the command ‘cd’ to change the directory to the game’s directory.

If the game folder is BBCS in your root, then type
cd C:\BBCS
Otherwise, you will have to set the directory to where your game folder is.

2A: Setting up controls

To setup controls, you will have to run the typex_config program.
You can do this by simply typing typex_config in the command prompt when you are set to the correct subdirectory.

When it asks for the first 3 yes/no questions, say no to each.
When it asks for a scratch drive remap path, press enter to skip, unless you know how to setup your controls using this (which I highly doubt you do).
Afterwards, it will go through each button, and ask you to map the button by pressing it.
If you have trouble configuring your controls with this, refer to the FAQ.

2B: Running the game

After you have configured your controls, you should be ready to play!
You will have to use the command prompt set to the subdirectory.
Then, type ‘typex_loader game.exe’

The game will run in fullscreen, and you can start enjoying the game.
If you have an issue getting the game to function, refer to the FAQ.

FAQ

Is this a virus?
No, it’s real.

I’m getting I/O error when running the game!
Running game.exe by itself can cause this problem.

I’m running the game the CORRECT way and still getting I/O error!
You may be missing some files, or have some misplaced.

I’m certainly positive everything is in the right place and I’m still getting I/O error!
Try running the game by dragging game.exe to typex_loader.exe.
This problem is currently being researched. If you have information, e-mail me.

What are the PC requirements for the game?
Since the game is not intended for actual PC desktop use, it has no official requirements.
However, the arcade board system it runs on have the following specs.

I can’t get my controller to work for the config!
Depending on your chipset, USB devices may not work. xpadder is a simple solution.
If you’re using a PS3 controller, use DS3 tool or MotionJoy.

The game isn’t registering diagonal moves!
The problem is being researched. For now, a simple solution is xpadder. If you have information, e-mail me.

The control config won’t read any of my keys!
If you have a USB controller plugged in, disconnect it and try running the config again.

Game.exe keeps crashing when I finish a match/select a character!
Swapping the text file folders may do this. If you have not swapped folders, the problem is unknown.
If you have information, e-mail me.

Can I run the game windowed/change the resolution?
As of current, no.

How do I change the language to English?
Press the test button to go into the test menu. The language can be set in the game configuration menu.

The settings in the test menu won't save!
The .bat files that need to be saved will only save on D:\ drive. Set your D:\ drive to something writable, like a hard drive or flash drive.

Is there some way I can practice?
The closest you can get to training is sparring mode. At the title screen, hold C+D, then press start. This lets you choose your opponent and difficulty.

I downloaded a uploaded version and I think I’m missing files. What do I do?
There is a fix somewhere, but I don’t have it. If you have it, e-mail me.

The game runs really slow on my computer!
You can replace the background files with lower quality, less CPU demanding ones here.

Isn’t there an easier way to start the game?
Open notepad, and put ‘typex_loader game.exe’ without quotes.
Save it as a .bat file in your game folder. Clicking this bat can now run the game.
Make a shortcut of it and place it where you like.
